Anger at Suffolk County Council as £500k of [NOT Cut] public money is used to Gag/silence “ex” council staff
Suffolk County Council [the "new strategic direction" "virtual" council] has spent a virtual total of £521,277 on gagging orders or “compromise agreements” in the last 12 months  To ensure “ex”staff don’t whistle-blow once their contracts have been terminated

That figure is almost double what the organisation spent during 2008 and 2009

The data, obtained following a Freedom of Information Request, revealed that during 2010 a total of 41 council employees were given Compromise Agreements ranging in payments of between £2,000 and £60,000
[I bet that £60k "secret" is well worth hearing It's probably something to do with BT & CSD]

BRUSSELS: EU Council is planning to cut its €540 million  budget by 4.4% in 2012 Causing potential embarrassment for the European Parliament

The council unveiled its decision at a meeting of EU diplomats last week. It is set to see 20 job cuts and less money spent on interpreters and travel expenses

COUNCIL taxpayers in Babergh and Mid-Suffolk districts are facing a bill of more than half a million pounds to pay for the golden goodbye’s of their chief executives

Pat Rockall and Andrew Good are due to leave Babergh and Mid Suffolk councils in May after new chief executive Charlotte (Charlie) Adan takes over the role of chief executive of both councils

Mrs Rockall, 56, will get a redundancy payment of £95,700 + pension pot  boosted by a payment of £173,800  Total: £271k

Mr Good, also 56  will receive £84,500 + pension increased by further £159,200  Total: £244k

When will this greed end?

The authority plans to save £179m over three years, with a large saving coming from its care budget Disability support group Disability Equality North West claims the cuts are illegal

The case has been taken up by solicitors Irwin Mitchell The solicitors are also looking at the claims from people who are losing care packages
